The Beechwood Children’s Day Nursery is a member of THE NATIONAL DAY NURSERIES ASSOCIATION and is subject to regular OFSTED inspections.

Educational play activities will be given high priority and all our equipment will reflect and offer positive images of a wide range of cultures and ethnic groups as well as gender.

The toys have been selected from the National Curriculum catalogues to help stimulate social, emotional and intellectual development as well as to improve language and literacy skills.

In order to meet OFSTED requirements our educational provision for all children covers the following areas:

1) Personal, social and emotional development
2) Communication, language and literacy
3) Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy
4) Knowledge and understanding of the world
5) Physical development
6) Creative development

Our OFSTED report shows good standards in all areas and a copy is available on request. As part of the nursery education scheme, we are required to provide 3 and 4 year olds, a nursery education place of good quality.

We have to draw up an action plan for continuous improvements of the education provision, covering the 6 areas of the foundation stage.

They emphasise early literacy, numeracy and the development of personal social skills and contribute to children’s knowledge, understanding and skills in other areas. Presented as 6 areas, they provide a foundation for later achievements.
